Privacy Statement / Data Protection
LSCI respects your privacy. We will ensure that all personal information supplied to us is held securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act of 1998. We view it as our legal obligation to protect your personal information/ data and explain to you how we will use it. We feel obliged to tell you if we want to pass the information on to anyone else. In general, any information you provide to the LSCI will only be used for the purposes of the School, its service providers and relevant accreditation/professional bodies. Your data will never be supplied to anyone outside the LSCI without first obtaining your consent, unless we are obliged or permitted by law to disclose it. This applies to your name, email addresses, personal information and any email correspondence. Also, if you post or send offensive or inappropriate content anywhere on or to the LSCI or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on the School website, which we consider serious and/or recurrent, the LSCI authorities can use whatever information is available about you to prevent such act or behaviour. This may include informing relevant third parties such as your employer, College/Organization or email provider about the content of your act and your behaviour.
LSCI will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the services you have requested, and shall remove it in the event that such purposes have been met. Where personal information is held for people who are not yet registered but have taken part in other services (for example, competitions), that information will be held only as long as necessary to ensure that the service is run smoothly.
