Admission Procedure
General Entry Requirements

For Any Graduation Program:

A High School Diploma/Equivalent is required for admission into this program.

For Any Post Graduation Program:

A good honours degree (minimum Second Class) or an equivalent overseas qualification in the specific discipline of choice is required.

Students from a non-English speaking background will be required to have an English language competency level equivalent to IELTS 5.5. In the event that they do not, they will be required to attend a preliminary English language course.

Academic assessment for entry is based on the grades an individual student gets in relevant subjects as well as on aggregate grade. Assessment is also based on academic subjects only, and does not consider performance in subjects such as Religious studies, Ethics, Physical Education. Students must be able to provide documentary evidence of their grades/school reports.

Students seeking entry must have good grades in English language, if an IELTS or TOEFL score is not available. If not, students may be required to study in an English language program. This will apply where English language grades are not particularly reliable.

Admission Procedure for Overseas Students

The Admissions Procedure for overseas students, i.e. those applying for admission into the LSCI programs from abroad or those students who will need to return to their country of origin to change their visa status is required to be consistent with the regulations of the UK Home Office as long as they remain in the UK on a student visa.

However, applying to any LSCI Course is simple.

For Applying

First of all, an applicant should see the entry requirements of the course and feel determined to be admitted into a particular course and its level of study. Once you have chosen a particular course of studies you must complete an application form as the first step of the application process. You may simply complete the Application Form online or fill it out manually by printing a hard copy from the LSCI website and return it to the School, together with
  • one-stamp size and three passport-sized (colour) photographs,
  • attested photocopies of your passport
  • copies of all or your latest educational qualifications for evaluation by the Admission and Administrative section of the School., and
  • a registration fee £150 (the registration fee is non refundable)
Unless specified in the course details, there is no official closing date for applications, as you can always apply in advance. Indeed, it is strongly recommended that you apply early enough to allow you to arrive at the LSCI campus on time for the commencement of your course.

After Receipt of an Offer

Once we have received your application and supporting documents, LSCI Admission Committee will review your application and will send you a conditional offer by email and/or letter, provided that you meet the entry criteria of the course that you have applied for. You can expect to receive a decision on your application within 7 (seven) working days after we received your application.

Once you have completed one of these applications, you should send us your supporting documents by post/fax/email scan. Please check and ensure that you meet the Entry Requirements of the course that you are applying for.

Acceptance of an Offer

In order to accept an offer from the LSCI, overseas students will be required to pay the tuition fees, as described in the conditional offer letter. Students may prefer to pay the entire tuition fees in advance, as the British High Commission/British Embassy normally extends special consideration to visa applicants who have made such payments. Once we receive the tuition fees, you will be issued with an official unconditional offer letter. This document will enable you to apply for a student visa.

Dispatch of Unconditional offer

LSCI process your unconditional offer letter by dispatching the entire set of visa documents pack via Royal Mail's International Signed for Service. Usually within two weeks you are likely to receive your documents. Should you advice us and be willing to pay an extra amount of £45 we may also send the documents via DHL for prompt delivery.

Please note that the DHL charge is non-refundable and we will not be liable if the package doesn't get delivered to you if the address you have provided is incomplete or you were not available to accept the delivery. For more information about DHL service visit www.dhl.co.uk.

Final Registration

If your visa application is successful, please inform us of this as soon as possible so that we can make the necessary arrangements for your arrival in the UK. Once you have arrived in the UK you will be required to report immediately to the School in order to complete all outstanding procedures and formalities. Please be advised that you will need to pay the balance of your tuition fees or make definite arrangements such as payments by instalment before the commencement of your course.

The first week of the commencement of your program is designated as the Induction Week and the first day of your course start day will be the Induction Day. The final timetable of your course will usually be distributed on the Induction Day.

Registration with University/Awarding Body

Please note that registration with the LSCI is separate from the registration with the UNIVERSITY/AWARDING BODY.

The students are required to register with the UNIVERSITY/AWARDING INSTITUTION from which they will get the award. This is not a requirement for courses offered by the LSCI.

In all the course programs, which require the students to register, it is the student’s responsibility to register with the UNIVERSITY/AWARDING BODY (such as the UNIVERSITY OF LONDON, LCM or ABE) at their own cost prior to their admission to the LSCI.

All information, regarding how to register with the external bodies and how much it costs, will be available on request from the LSCI Reception.

Accommodation

The next important stage to consider is where you are going to stay whilst studying at LSCI. If you would like the School to reserve a temporary accommodation early and send you a booking confirmation letter in support of your visa application, you will be required to pay a minimum deposit as stated in your conditional offer letter.

Please note that this money will be refunded to you (deducting 1 week's rent i.e. £100/£75, if your visa application is unsuccessful or you inform us that you do not require accommodation two weeks before your arrival. Otherwise, this payment won't be refunded and cannot be transferred towards the tuition fee, as this payment directly goes to the landlord/Estate Agents.
